The shoes are so real! Beautiful job! This is high praise as it comes from someone that knows a great deal about cakes, decorating, icing, fondant, etc. due to my relationship with an aunt that does wedding cakes and cakes for childrens' parties and is a professional. Very Impressive! You've probably already done one, but I'd love to see a high gloss shiny Steinway Grand Piano. I myself am a professional pianist and that would be an awesome looking cake. It would be so apropos due to the fact that Steinway is being bought out and that is an extremely sad occasion...at least to me. Thank you for showing off you incredible talent, and the detail you do.
One thing that my aunt always says, a cake may look like a million bucks, but it HAS TO TASTE just as good as it looks. I wish I could taste your creations. I'm not personally a fondant fan, taste wise...but that is a personal preference...however if the cake is fabulous tasting, for me that tips the scales. What flavor is this cake? And I was wondering what is your usual selection of flavors that you offer? And the biggest question of all, are they moist? I'm always curious about other peoples cakes. Maybe I have OCD...but after being exposed to all the hard work that goes into professional cake making...one knows there are many parts that make a great cake.
Thank you for your kind words First of all I want to say I'm NOT a professionist! For me is just an hobby, although it is becoming a second job, but I love to do it! My favourite flavors are chocolate cake and white chocolate ganache, but this one is a sponge with pastry cream vanilla and chocolate cream. I always do moist cakes, because here we are in Italy and cakes MUST be moist or people don't eat it! For this is very hard do this kind of cakes here... Who ate this cake was very happy about the taste, so I was doubly happy!
I never did a Grand Piano... but one day I'll do it and I will dedicate to you, I love piano's sound. If one day you'll come to Italy I'll be glad to offer you a slice of my cakes, with or without fondant (personally I take it off!). hug:
